Massage Therapist

Questions

Do I need a doctor's referral?
Although a referral is not required to see a Registered Massage Therapist, your extended medical plan may require one for you to be reimbursed. Please consult your plan.

What about MSP & ICBC coverage?
Clients with premium assistance with the Medical Service Plan due to low income may qualify for a $23 refund per visit (if they haven't used up their allotment of 10 visits to other healthcare providers in the calendar year). Those people with written proof of ICBC coverage for massage therapy in the 8 week period after a motor vehicle accident can deduct $23 from my normal fee schedule.

What should I wear for my massage?
In order to work with the oil directly on your skin, you must disrobe to your underwear. You will be properly draped with a sheet and blanket for your comfort. It is best not to wear your favorite clothes to the appointment because there may be some oil transferred to your clothing. Most of the oils used are chosen for their non-staining properties and are readily absorbed into the skin, leaving little residue. For some acupressure techniques and Thai massage, loose cotton clothing may be worn. You can bring your own or wear the clothing provided.
